Rainy days can be disappointing for parents and children alike. With the right activities, however, a rainy day can be even more fun than a sunny one! Here are some preschooler-friendly activities to keep your preschooler entertained on a rainy day:
Have a movie day
Gloomy, rainy weather makes for the perfect conditions to snuggle up and get cozy indoors! Pop some popcorn, pile on the blankets, and put on an age-appropriate movie. The rumbling rain outside will make for the perfect ambience for a movie day.
Play some indoor games
For more active children, there are lots of great indoor games. Try hide-and-seek or Simon Says. If that doesn’t succeed in getting all their energy out, try a dance party. Put on some of your child’s favorite music and dance along!
Venture outside anyway
A little water never scared a preschooler! Get geared up for a splishy-splashy walk with rainboots, a jacket, and a hat. Your preschooler will be thrilled with the novelty of carrying an umbrella and stomping in puddles.
Whether you choose to stay inside or go out for a rainy day adventure, your child is sure to be entertained despite the rain!
