Getting to school on time is stressful enough, but you must feed your preschooler, too. Here are some of our favorite healthy, easy breakfast ideas your preschooler will love!
Make-Ahead Egg Cups
Egg cups are a great option for kids who love eggs but parents who don’t want to make them every morning! Scramble six eggs together and add in any toppings you’d like. Cheese, and bacon bits or sausage are great options, but we love putting veggies in ours, too, because our preschoolers don’t even notice. Pour the mixture into a half dozen muffin tin and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Store in the fridge and reheat for breakfast. You could also make a double batch and freeze half!
Fruit & Yogurt Parfaits
Parfaits are another favorite make-ahead breakfast that are easy to eat on the go! Fill a mason jar with plain Greek yogurt and fruit such as blueberries, strawberries, or your favorite fruit. Then, put the lid on and store in the fridge for 2-3 days. When ready to eat, sprinkle with nuts or granola and enjoy!
Slice a banana in half lengthwise to make an open-faced banana sandwich. Spread almond butter or peanut butter on each half and then top with whatever you please! Our favorites are honey, nuts, granola, shredded coconut, raisins, and a few chocolate chips.
Oatmeal is a classic breakfast option, but baking it means we don’t have to wait for anything to boil! Combine 1 cup of oatmeal and 2.5 cups of water in a microwave-safe bowl. Make sure to spray it with nonstick spray. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, stirring halfway. Add in a teaspoon of butter before serving and offer your children toppings such as honey, fruit, or nuts. Our favorite combo is apple and cinnamon. By switching up the toppings, your children will never get tired of this oatmeal!
Give these healthy breakfast options a try to simplify your mornings and set your preschooler up for success at school!
