Turn cold weather days into magical ones for you and your preschooler by combining a little imagination with a lot of creative play! When temperatures plunge and daylight disappears, you do not have to rely on electronic devices or television to pass the time. Instead, tap into your inner chef, throw a picnic, or hold a puppet show. Enjoy cold weather activities with your little one that will not be short on fun!<\/span><\/p>\n

Mix Up a Batch\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Pull out a favorite winter cookie recipe, such as snickerdoodles or gingerbread, and mix up a batch with your preschooler. Use cookie cutters to make trees, snowmen, and other winter-themed shapes, and then add a light drizzle of icing or a sprinkle of sugar. Pack up a few batches for your neighbors, prepare a plate for grandparents, and then enjoy some together with a glass of milk!<\/span><\/p>\n

Throw a Picnic\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Who says you need to have warm weather to enjoy a picnic? Roll out a favorite blanket in the middle of your living room and toss a few comfortable pillows around. Ask your preschooler to help you make some simple sandwiches or to serve tasty snacks, string cheese and sweet clementines. Turn on your favorite jazz tunes or holiday hits for seasonal flair, and enjoy a <\/span>leisurely indoor picnic<\/span><\/a> together!<\/span><\/p>\n

Hold a Puppet Show<\/span><\/h3>\n

All you need for indoor entertainment on cold days is a large cardboard box and a few paper sacks! Break out brightly colored markers and construction paper, plus a glue stick, to transform the paper sacks into one-of-a-kind puppets, and then use the cardboard box to craft a makeshift stage. Once you have all the materials ready, choose a favorite story to act out together. Let your little one take the lead, and enjoy as the revelry commences!<\/span><\/p>\n
