Looking for a preschool for your child can be overwhelming. We all want our children to be safe, but also to have fun and learn while they are away at school. Here are some things to look for in a preschool to make sure it will be a great fit for you and your family!<\/span><\/p>\n

1. \u00a0 \u00a0 Cost<\/span><\/h3>\n

The first thing to consider when selecting a preschool is the cost. Try to have a number in mind when visiting schools. You want your child to be at a school that\u2019s a good fit for them, but not at an expense that burdens your family.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. \u00a0 \u00a0 Number of Children and Staff<\/span><\/h3>\n

Ask about the staff to child ratio and the size of each class. If your child wants or needs extra help or attention, look for a smaller class size. If your child will thrive in a busy environment with lots of children, you can select a school with a larger class size. Make sure the staff, and teachers especially, seem friendly!<\/span><\/p>\n

3. \u00a0 \u00a0 Safety<\/span><\/h3>\n

The most important thing for most parents is that their kids are safe while they are at school! Make sure the preschool you choose is up to date on their licenses and certifications. You will also want to see if they can accommodate any allergies your child might have.<\/span><\/p>\n

Preschools have many different schedules! Before visiting, determine how many days a week you want your child in school and for how long. Schools offer full and half days, as well as every day and every other day schedules. Ask about naptime and recess and what kind of curriculum the school uses, if any. Finally, if you need to drop your child off early or pick them up late, make sure to find out what options are available.<\/span><\/p>\n

5. \u00a0 \u00a0 Reputation<\/span><\/h3>\n

Check with neighbors and friends, or even online reviews, to get a parent\u2019s perspective of the preschool you are looking at. While every child and their needs are different, it will help to see what others are saying about the school.<\/span><\/p>\n
