New Valentine’s Day Traditions to Start With Your Preschooler

at Kids ‘R’ Kids Sienna, preschool, daycare, childcare

Are you looking for a fun and meaningful way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your preschooler this year? How about starting a new tradition that will create lasting memories for you and your child for years to come. Here are some Valentine’s Day traditions to start this year with your preschooler.

Make homemade Valentine’s Day decorations

A house decked out in painted heart decorations and red and pink garlands is a house full of love and creativity! As the years go by, your child will treasure time spent creating more and more handmade decorations with their parents.

Make a Valentine’s Day breakfast

Your child may be spending part of Valentine’s Day at preschool, but that doesn’t mean you can’t share a special moment with them before they must be dropped off! Making a special Valentine’s Day breakfast for your child doesn’t have to be complicated – heart shaped pancakes can be made by pouring pancake mix into a heart cookie cutter. Or, if your child is not usually permitted certain breakfast foods, surprise them with sugar cereal or donuts for this special occasion! This will make your preschooler feel so special, and will start their Valentine’s Day off on the right foot. As your child grows older, this is sure to be a tradition you can continue to celebrate even as your days get busier and busier!

Surprise your child with a small gift

Imagine the look on your preschooler’s face when they see a little present sitting at their place at the table in the morning, or on their bed when they come home from preschool! It doesn’t have to be a big gift – a chocolate treat, a Valentine’s themed stuffed animal, or some other small toy or trinket will do! The element of surprise is enough to make your child feel special on this holiday.

These are just a few creative ideas to make Valentine’s Day special for your family this year and for many years to come!
