The number one New Year’s resolution is to lose weight. But where can you find the time and resources to get in shape when you have preschoolers running around and needing attention? Here are 3 ways that you can involve your children in your quest for fitness.
Exercise with your little ones.
Whether you use your children as weights to squat or help them learn yoga with you, the best way to make time to exercise is including them instead of leaving them out. You can do lunges while you’re holding little Sally, and you’ll be motivated to stretch a little bit further when you see just how flexible your little ones are.
If you have a hard time dieting and sticking to it, consider making a meal plan.
Make several freezer meals to serve as lunches. Set aside one day a week to cook so you can succeed at living healthy.
Encourage your children to keep you accountable.
Chances are, once you involve them in your workout, they’re not going to let you forget that you haven’t worked out yet today. Try bullet journaling to keep up with your progress. Or you could make a brightly colored chart to hang up on the wall, and fun stickers to track your progress. Let your little one be in charge of making your progress, and their enthusiasm for sticking today’s sticker is sure to motivate you to finish that workout session.
