Make Valentine\u2019s Day cards<\/span><\/h4>\n

Making Valentine\u2019s Day cards is a fun activity that your preschooler can help with. Gather some supplies such as construction paper, markers, glue, and glitter (if you\u2019re feeling brave!) and have your preschooler help you decorate cards for family and friends. Not only is this a fun way to show your preschooler how to express their love, but it\u2019s also a great way to practice fine motor skills.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Make a Valentine\u2019s Day breakfast<\/span><\/h4>\n

Your child may be spending part of Valentine\u2019s Day at preschool, but that doesn’t mean you can\u2019t share a special moment with them before they must be dropped off. Making a special Valentine\u2019s Day breakfast for your child doesn\u2019t have to be complicated – heart shaped pancakes can be made by pouring pancake mix into a heart cookie cutter! Or, if your child is not usually permitted certain breakfast foods, surprise them with sugar cereal or donuts for this special occasion! This will make your preschooler feel special on this holiday, and will start their Valentine\u2019s Day off on the right foot. As your preschooler grows older, this is sure to be a tradition you can continue to celebrate even as your days get busier and busier!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Have a Valentine\u2019s Day movie night<\/span><\/h4>\n

Put on a family-friendly Valentine\u2019s Day movie and snuggle up on the couch with some popcorn! <\/span>Will You Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown?<\/span><\/i> is a classic, or you can try out some other love-filled favorites, like <\/span>WALL-E<\/span><\/i> or <\/span>Gnomeo and Juliet<\/span><\/i>! This is another tradition that is easy to adapt as your child grows older.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Starting traditions with your preschooler is a great way to create lasting memories and a great opportunity to show and example your preschooler of how to express love to their family and friends. Starting a tradition this year will be sure to have lasting positive effects throughout your child\u2019s life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
