\u201cWhat do you mean you\u2019re bored?\u201d\u00a0 This is likely what goes through your mind when you hear your preschooler exclaim, \u201cI\u2019m bored.\u201d\u00a0 Your preschooler may be having difficulty coming up with new ideas to entertain herself and needs a change of scenery.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Help in the Kitchen<\/span><\/h4>\n

Your preschooler surely looks up to you and wants to do everything you do.\u00a0 Take some time to do some cooking with your preschooler.\u00a0 Try to keep it to simple recipes that don\u2019t involve a lot of activities they cannot perform on their own (i.e. cooking on the stove top).\u00a0 Try making Rice Krispy Treats, No-Bake Cookies, or this yummy recipe for energy bars.\u00a0 You will melt together \u00bd\u00a0 cup peanut butter, \u00bc cup margarine, and 1 bag of miniature marshmallows in the microwave.\u00a0 Next, add 2 \u00bd cups Cheerios, 1 \u00bd cups Rice Krispies, \u00bd cup raisins, \u00bd cup peanuts, and \u00bd cup chocolate chips to a large bowl.\u00a0 Pour the melted mixture onto the cereal mixture and stir.\u00a0 Spread into a 9×13 pan, cut into bars, and cool.\u00a0 You can tweak this recipe to include your child\u2019s favorites or use an alternative to peanut butter, if you have peanut allergies in the family.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sidewalk Chalk<\/span><\/h4>\n

Spend some time drawing beautiful chalk drawings and writing motivational messages for friends and family on your driveway or sidewalk.\u00a0 Taking a trip to Grandma\u2019s to leave her a little driveway art may be a fun boredom buster and will surely brighten Grandma\u2019s day.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Write a Letter<\/span><\/h4>\n

Help your preschooler write a letter or craft a card for a family member or friend they don\u2019t get to see often.\u00a0 Show them how to add the address and stamp to the envelope and make a trip to the post office.\u00a0 This will surely beat some boredom and brighten someone else\u2019s day!<\/span><\/p>\n

Water Fight<\/span><\/h4>\n

Put on your swimsuits, grab your water guns, and head outside for an old fashion water fight!\u00a0 Kids versus parents will surely entertain your little one (and you) for a while!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These activities will not only help your little one be less bored, but will provide some great bonding time with your preschooler.\u00a0 That is a win-win situation and a wonderful way to make memories!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
