Cleaning and refreshing your home after a long winter is always such a great feeling, but spring cleaning itself can seem like a monumental task! There\u2019s a phrase that says \u201cmany hands make light work,\u201d but it\u2019s probably true that whoever said that first didn\u2019t have preschool-age children! However, your kids can absolutely help with the spring cleaning and it can even be fun!<\/span><\/p>\n

As with most activities for younger kids, the most effective results will occur when you keep it fun, keep it simple, and keep it short! Preschool age-appropriate chores should probably take about 10-15 minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here are some great ways kids can help the whole family with spring cleaning:<\/span><\/p>\n

Vacuuming <\/span><\/h4>\n

No, really! Most kids get a real kick out of vacuuming at a young age, so take advantage of that while you can! Assign a small space, like an area rug, and let them be responsible for vacuuming it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Skate Dusting <\/span><\/h4>\n

If you have hardwood or tile floors, it\u2019s likely that there are dust bunnies lurking along baseboards and in corners. This is even worse if pets are involved! Have your preschooler put on fuzzy socks and \u201cskate\u201d along the floor to see how big a dust bunny he can collect on his socks.<\/span><\/p>\n

Clean out and Donate <\/span><\/h4>\n

Every season change is a great time to go through closets, toy chests, and play rooms to determine what is no longer worn or played with. Giving your child ownership of this activity will not only clear out space but will probably avoid any meltdowns due to getting rid of beloved items.<\/span><\/p>\n

Get Your Groove On <\/span><\/h4>\n

Fun, upbeat music is a must during spring cleaning! Make a playlist of songs with your child, and then the whole family can groove, dance, and sing while cleaning the house.<\/span><\/p>\n
