Fun with your preschooler doesn’t have to stop just because the temperature has dropped! When the cold weather comes, it’s easy to quickly run out of fun activities for you and your little one to do together. Here are three ideas for indoor activities that are sure to keep this season exciting!
Make a blanket fort
Gather all of your blankets and pillows together and create a blanket fort with your preschooler. Whether you decide to go big or small, this activity is sure to make your preschooler’s day and provide hours of entertainment for them. When the fort is complete, curl up with a cup of hot chocolate and watch a movie together.
Bake cookies for your local first responders
Spending the day indoors just got a whole lot sweeter! Either homemade or premade, your preschooler will love baking and decorating cookies with you. Teach them about the importance of sharing and giving by taking some to your local first responders as a way to say thanks!
Create an indoor snowman
Whether snow is on the ground outside or not, it’s easy to make an indoor snowman with your preschooler. Using felt, cut out three white circles for the snowman’s body and attach them to your wall with push pins or simply leave them on the ground. Then, cut out the snowman’s arms, eyes, and nose (and any other accessories you’d like to make for your preschooler to decorate the snowman with) in different colors of felt. Spray a light layer of spray adhesive on the back of all the felt snowman parts and let your preschooler go to town creating their own unique snowman masterpiece again and again!
Don’t let the cold weather stop the fun with your preschooler this year! Let one of these ideas brighten up a winter day!
