Creative Lunch Ideas for Preschoolers

Creative Lunches at Kids 'R' Kids Northern Greensboro, daycare, learning academy, preschool

The next school year is right around the corner and we want to help you prepare with some easy, and creative lunchbox ideas for your preschooler! Your child is going to look forward to opening their lunchbox each day with these fun lunch options.

 Sandwich on a Stick

This fun twist on a normal sandwich is great because it doesn’t take much longer to make than a normal sandwich. Cut all your sandwich ingredients into bite-sized pieces and then put them on a skewer starting and ending with bread. We have found that 3 skewers is the perfect amount for our kiddos. Some favorite combos we love are PB&J with bites of a PB&J sandwich, strawberries, and bananas on a stick, or chicken salad on a stick with sliced chicken, apples, grapes, and string cheese.

Bento Boxes

Before making bento boxes for lunch, you’ll need to find a container that has several small sections, but then, your options are endless. Some ideas to get you started are a homemade lunchable bento box or a breakfast for lunch one! For the lunchable, fill your sections with crackers, meats, cheeses, and a dessert or some fruit. For the breakfast for lunch bento box, fill it with pancake bites, sliced sausage or bacon, fruit strips, some fresh fruit, and a side of syrup.

Banana Sushi

We love making banana sushi for a quick, fun take on a normal peanut butter and banana sandwich. Grab a whole-wheat tortilla and spread peanut butter on it. Drizzle with honey before rolling up a banana in the tortilla. Slice into bite-sized pieces and you’re all set!

We hope these creative lunch ideas will get you off to a great start this school year, not to mention keep your child satisfied with their lunches!
