Summer time with a preschooler means lots of days outside in the heat.\u00a0 After playing in the hot sun, your preschooler is sure to enjoy a cool treat.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Watermelon Slush<\/span><\/h4>\n

Toss approximately six cups of sliced and seeded watermelon into a blender cup and puree.\u00a0 Store the puree in the freezer overnight and pull it out before heading outside to play.\u00a0 Allow it to soften a little and then mush it with a fork before serving it into individual cups for individual watermelon slushes everyone is sure to enjoy!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Frozen Grapes<\/span><\/h4>\n

This cold treat is so simple and yummy you will be wondering why you haven\u2019t tried it before!\u00a0 Wash and slice grapes before placing them into small zipper bags.\u00a0 Toss the bags into the freezer for several hours or overnight.\u00a0 You now have individual baggies of grape flavored popsicles that are both healthy and hydrating.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fruit Smoothies<\/span><\/h4>\n

Chop up your preschooler\u2019s favorite fruits and toss into a blender cup.\u00a0 Add a spoonful of greek yogurt and a splash of milk or juice and blend.\u00a0 For added sweetness, add a drizzle of honey before blending.\u00a0 If you\u2019re feeling extra sneaky, add a few spinach leaves or other vitamin rich veggie before blending.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ice Cream in a Bag<\/span><\/h4>\n

For this cool treat, you will need (for each serving):\u00a0 a quart zipper bag, a gallon zipper bag, \u00bc cup milk, \u00bc cup half-and-half, \u00bc teaspoon vanilla extract, approximately 1 cup of ice cubes, and 3 tablespoons of ice cream rock salt.\u00a0 Combine the cup, half-and-half, and vanilla extract in the quart zipper bag and seal.\u00a0 Add the salt, ice, and quart zipper bag to the gallon zipper bag and seal.\u00a0 Rock the bags back and forth until the contents thicken.\u00a0 Try to keep your preschooler from shaking the bag, which could cause it to break open and leak.\u00a0 Add any of your preschooler\u2019s favorite toppings and enjoy!<\/span><\/p>\n

Enjoy these hot days with your preschooler and include them in preparing the ingredients for their cool treats!\u00a0 Hopefully, you and your little one can enjoy a cool treat on a hot summer day without chasing down the ice cream truck!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
