Once again, summer flew by rather quickly! With the seasons changing, your preschooler may not expect these changes. Below are four fun ways to transition to the fall months with your preschooler.
Talk-up the Possible Fun
With the new season comes new types of play. With your preschooler, hype the fun possibilities that you can do together. Between raking and jumping in leaves, festivals (the free ones are the best!), or hayrides, there is much fun to be had this fall.
Make Any Necessary Shopping Seem Like a “Date” With You
Does your preschooler need a new rain jacket or new long sleeve shirts to usher in the fall? In advance, you can get your preschooler excited to go on a “date” with you to prepare for the new season. Remember that you can check out local thrift or consignment stores to get the best deal on gently-used items.
Make Fall Crafts Together
Whether you make crafting time fancy or not, you and your preschooler can come up with crafts together for fall fun. You can use items from nature to make a collage or just use washable paint to paint a real pumpkin or a picture of one.
Check Out Free Fall-Themed Library Books to Read Together
Your local library will have many good book options to help you and your preschooler transition to the fall months. Some books will be about fall holidays, and others will be exciting and fun picture books for your preschooler. “Corduroy’s Best Halloween Ever” by Don Freeman is an example of a fall-themed book that may delight your child.
