Spring has sprung and brought with it a beautiful variety of colors!\u00a0 Now is an excellent time to do some fun rainbow themed activities with your preschooler.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you have access to a craft store or dollar store, you should be able to find prisms in the children\u2019s art section.\u00a0 After you have painted them and let them dry, hang them in a window that receives good sunlight and watch the colors dance around the room with your toddler!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There are various ways you can use multicolored beads, buttons, or other small objects to have some rainbow fun.\u00a0 One way is to let your child sort them out by color.\u00a0 Lay out a sheet of colored paper to match each colored bead, button, or object you have collected.\u00a0 Let your child match the object to the corresponding paper color by laying it on top of the paper.\u00a0 After they finish, you can mix it up and let them do it again or draw a rainbow on a separate sheet of paper and help your preschooler glue items of each color to it to create a three-dimensional rainbow. With beads, you could also design some rainbow necklaces or bracelets for friends and family to wear.<\/span><\/p>\n

Snack time can be turned into some magical rainbow fun simply by eating a rainbow.\u00a0 Gather bite sized fruits and berries of multiple colors and arrange them into a rainbow.\u00a0 Discuss the different colors, tastes, and smells of the fruits while you enjoy eating them together.<\/span><\/p>\n

Whether you are at home, outside, or on the go, make it a point to notice all the various colors of the rainbow in common things all around you.\u00a0 Have your child find 5 green things or 3 purple things.\u00a0 Then move on to the next color.\u00a0 \u201cI Spy\u201d is also a fun way to practice colors.\u00a0 Go through each color of the rainbow and see if your toddler can find what you spy.\u00a0 Then, switch and you be the guesser!<\/span><\/p>\n

Eating, sorting, painting, playing a game, no matter what you choose, have a wonderful, colorful time with your child this spring!<\/span><\/p>\n
