Summertime is a lot of fun, but sometimes it can get a little too hot outside. For days like that, we all need some ideas on fun ways to beat the heat with preschoolers. Check out these great ideas to try this summer with your little one.<\/span><\/p>\n

Play in water sprinklers with your preschooler.<\/b><\/h2>\n

Preschoolers love to play in water sprinklers, and you don\u2019t have to worry about their safety since there won\u2019t be any standing water. Water the grass as your little ones are playing\u2014it\u2019s a win-win for everyone! Be sure to slather on the sunscreen since water increases the chance of sunburn. You can even have your preschooler wear a t-shirt over their swimsuit to help block the sun. Have some fun and run through the sprinklers with your child!<\/span><\/p>\n

Preschoolers love drawing and coloring books.<\/b><\/h2>\n

When it\u2019s just too hot to stay outside, and everyone is tired and ready to head in, break out the coloring books, paper, and crayons! Let your little one draw their favorite scenery or a family portrait. Encourage them to color in the lines as this develops their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. Ask them the names of the colors as they choose the crayons, and see if you can teach them the names of different shades of the primary colors. Include learning in the fun!<\/span><\/p>\n

Create no-bake treats with your preschooler.<\/b><\/h2>\n

Everyone gets hungry, and what better time to spend the day than making snack time fun! Try to use no-bake recipes so that it will be easier to include your little one and to avoid heating up the house any more than the sun has already. Make fruit salad with canned fruit, no-bake cookies, homemade popsicles, and snow cones made with fruit juice. Make summertime sweet and fun!<\/span><\/p>\n
