Do you have a winter trip planned? Whether you or your preschooler enjoy the packing and preparations, the trip itself is sure to be fun!
Here are a few tips for traveling with your preschooler during the winter.
- Shop around at different consignment stores before your trip gets too close. You could find a snowsuit or hats and gloves for a small portion of the price versus buying these items brand new. Good consignment stores are picky on the “front-end” when accepting clothing and gear. As a result, you are not having to sacrifice quality for the price when purchasing the items.
- Pack extras of the small items. Having several extra sets of gloves or winter hats for your preschooler may come in handy. Since these items are small by nature, they are quite easy to lose track of. Having extras on hand will allow you to not lose out on any last-minute fun on your trip.
- Bring the unexpected essentials. Skin gets more dry in the cold air. Pack some lotion and chapstick. Also, depending on where you are headed, sunscreen may be necessary, too. People can get sunburns in the winter in certain locations.
- Proactively pack fun wintery-type snacks so that you do not have to spend time buying these on your trip. For example, bring along marshmallows and hot chocolate packets to enjoy with your preschooler at your destination.
- Be prepared to layer while traveling. You do not know if your child will be cold or hot while traveling. You and your child can dress in a way that no matter if it is warm or chilly in the vehicle, your bodies can feel easily remedied.
Even if you are not able to travel this time around with your family, one day, a great (and prepared) winter trip will be in store for you.
