Invention box<\/a><\/h3>\n

Encourage creativity in your child by gifting them an invention box\u2014that you can add to all year long! \u00a0An invention box can include paper towel rolls, empty Kleenex boxes or oatmeal containers, unused craft supplies like pipe cleaners or scraps of fabric. \u00a0When your child is building or having craft time, remind them about their invention box! If you are working on a project as a family, ask your preschooler what items from their invention box would help your project.<\/p>\n

Old cell phone<\/h3>\n

Young children like copying mom and dad. \u00a0Even just an old cell phone with a dead battery will offer hours of pretend play talking to grandparents and friends. \u00a0Or, clear out a still operational phone that can only be used on WiFi.
