Curriculum Coordinator

Job Description:

The curriculum coordinator is a member of the management team who interfaces with staff, parents, and the community.He/she should assist in the implementation of all applicable teaching programs.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate or Degree in early childhood or primary education
  • Classroom experience in an early childhood setting
  • Evidence of leadership or management in past employment
  • Knowledge of teaching principles, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speech
  • Ability to determine if a child has met class goals and is ready to transition
  • Understand Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reads and embraces the philosophy and concepts of all Kids ‘R’Kids Curriculum components
  • Work with accreditation agency to ensure compliance with classroom goals
  • Ensure classroom and station enhancements are current and adequate for instructional purposes
  • Support colleagues in selecting appropriate resources and strategies to support students with difficulties
  • Supports building teacher-parent strategies based on individual child needs & development
  • Manage ABC mouse accounts with parents and ensure proper usage of this application is implemented with the classroom teachers
  • Organizes, maintains, and disseminates curriculum materials
  • Collects materials/supply lists from teachers; orders/purchases necessary supplies/materials
  • Visits classrooms daily; conducts observations and evaluations
  • Models appropriate delivery of Kids ‘R’Kids Curriculum lessons
  • Provides leadership and direction to teachers as it relates to curriculum implementation
  • Assists teachers in recognizing their strengths and weaknesses, helps them set attainable goals, and encourages them to work toward becoming the best teachers they can be
  • Plans and implements staff development activities
  • Develops and implements positive public relations activities for parents and community
  • Reports directly to the center’s owners
  • Coordinates and conducts staff meetings in the absence of the director
  • Skilled in the use of computers and software
  • Assists teachers in gathering assessment data, compiling assessment information, and interpreting that information to plan effectively for children and the center

Job Type: Full-time

Experience:

  • Early childhood experience : 3 years (Preferred)
  • Classroom: 5 years (Required)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s (Required)

Language:

  • Spanish (Preferred)

Required travel:

  • 25% (Preferred)
