Afterschool Coordinator 

Oversee the daily operations of the after-school program and camps as directed by the owner/director.  This includes planning, developing, organizing, and maintaining school’s program for students, parents and staff that support the mission statement of Kids ‘R’ Kids.

Know and understand Texas Child Care Minimum Standards, Kids ‘R’ Kids Corporate Standards, Texas Rising Star, and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)

  • Know and understand Kids ‘R’ Kids Employee, and Parent Handbooks
  • Know, understand & ensure implementation of the G.Y.M. curriculum in conjunction with curriculum coordinator
  • Be familiar with location, schedules of Charter and NISD schools.
  • Act as a liaison with local schools
  • Be aware of community group or public events that pertain to children
  • Know the procedure for locating missing children from center, field trips or public school, etc.
  • Know students and parents in the program
  • Know and comply with Kids ‘R’ Kids, NAEYC, and TRS program standards

Parents

  • Handle all parental concerns & Inform Director & Owner of concerns & Action Taken
  • Schedule Parent/Teacher Conference as needed
    • Ensure staff scheduling for maintaining staff/child ratios
    • Create staff schedules
    • Recommend Hiring & Terminations of GYM staff
    • Supervise Staff & Ensure Developmentally Appropriate Activities
    • Communicate new enrollments to GYM staff
    • Conduct physical tours for before and after school program

School Age Activities Schedule, Field Trips and Budget Planning

  • Establish camp budget and supplies and submit to School Owner & Director
  • Thanksgiving/Christmas & Spring Break Camp
  • Accountable for school-age enrollment/disenrollment (enrollment goals)
  • Responsible for ensuring summer camp event calendar and activities
  • Establish and Market before and after school and camp programs with team at local community events
  • Create partnerships with local elementary schools via Kinder Round Up, Meet-the-Teacher, school events

Minimum Requirements

  • Provide all medical records, abuse clearance, criminal records check, fingerprint clearance, high school diploma, training certificates, and supply any other forms or information required by the state childcare regulatory agency or the school
    • Physical constraints required include the ability to hear the conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid, the ability to see and read newsprint with or without corrective lenses, to speak and be understood under normal circumstances. Have the ability to lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds and have the use of your arms, hands, legs, and feet with or without corrective devices to accomplish the job including evacuation of the building during emergencies
    • Demonstrate the ability to handle crisis situations, especially where children are involved and to respond immediately to any emergency.
    • Be willing to participate in continuing education as required by the state childcare regulatory agency
    • Maintain certification in CPR and First Aid Training
