Job Description

Kids’ R’ Kids of Liberty Field, a nationally accredited NAEYC, Cognia, and 4-Star Texas Rising Star learning academy, seeks reliable, consistent, and enthusiastic bus drivers to join our team!

Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the ideal driver would be committed to the health, safety, and welfare of all students and staff that are being transported, take pride in ensuring the physical condition of school vehicles is clean, safe, and efficient, and conserve a safe, nurturing, and loving environment. Drivers will also be responsible for working together with the other staff and faculty.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or Accredited General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, be able to drive, and qualify under the school’s insurance carrier when operating a school vehicle.
  • Must have a CDL Class B with passenger endorsement or be willing to attain one within 90 days of employment
  • Provide any additional forms/information required by the child care regulatory agency or Kids’ R’ Kids – Liberty Field.
  • Must have satisfactory outcome of background and fingerprinting check before starting employment
  • Meet minimum requirements set by the state child care regulatory agency for the position of Preschool Teacher.
  • Current certification in CPR/First Aid or the ability to obtain certification
  • Must be available within the hours of 6:30 am – 5:30 pm Monday – Friday
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle crises, especially where children are involved, and to respond immediately to any emergency
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • Experience working with youth in public schools, church-related schools, day camps, youth groups, private schools, licensed child care centers, OR other approved settings (preferred)
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle using a manual and automatic transmission
  • Skill in working with diverse groups of students and families
  • Ability to demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to read, write, and share in Spanish (preferred)
  • Ability to upgrade technical skills to meet changes in job requirements
  • Ability to adapt to frequent changes in job procedures
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children and staff transported to and from the school.
  • Complete a daily inspection of the bus and report any conditions of concern to the Facilities Manager before transporting children and staff.
  • Follow procedures to guarantee no child is left alone on the bus without adult supervision at any time.
  • Ensure all children have departed the bus at the end of all bus routes (morning, evening, and during field trips or other special trips)
  • Follow cleaning procedures to ensure the bus is clean and free of debris
  • Routinely inventory bus emergency/first aid supplies and equipment and report needs to the Facilities Manager
  • Prepare children for bus drills and ensure bus evacuation drills are held and documented quarterly
  • In case of accidents/emergencies, evacuate children as required and following the Kids’ R’ Kids Policies & Procedures, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Child Care Licensing agency, and this school
  • In the event of an accident, ensure medical emergency procedures are followed and a written accident report is completed as required and by the Kids ‘R’ Kids Policies & Procedures, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Child Care Licensing agency, and this school
  • Ensure compliance with the state child care regulations, local and federal regulatory agencies, the Kids ‘R’ Kids Policies & Procedures
  • Interact positively with parents/guardians, faculty, staff, and community members and provide excellent customer service to all
  • May aid students using crisis intervention techniques and other behavior modification procedures
  • Perform other duties assigned within the scope of responsibility and requirements of the job
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job.

  • Moderate physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
  • Moderate stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching.
  • Subject to visual acuity, speech/hearing, hand/eye coordination, and manual dexterity to perform the essential functions.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying climate conditions
  • It may be required under particular circumstances to provide physical restraint to students in danger of causing harm to themselves and others.

Pay starts from $15.00 per hour.
