As owners of the Kids ‘R’ Kids Las Colinas franchise built in 1998, Seth and Teresa Van Eyk strive to make sure that the quality of care and learning is the best. Their hands-on approach is demonstrated daily by their on-site presence and involvement. With degrees from Oregon State University (Seth), and the University of Oklahoma (Teresa), they chose to follow successful careers in the corporate world with the rewarding field of childcare. After careful research and consideration, they selected Kids ‘R’ Kids due to the nurturing style and effective teaching techniques.
Director Katrina Ingram has been a valuable member of the preschool since 1999. With her endless enthusiasm and creative thinking, she steadily moved up over the years from classroom teacher to her current role as Director. Katrina was awarded her Child Development Associate credential in September 2003 and has over 700 hours in Continuing Early Childhood Education. She is the primary supervisor of all the classroom teachers and front office staff. Parents describe her as warm and friendly.
Assistant Director and Curriculum Coordinator Mari Brown started with the preschool back in 2010 and works closely with the corporate office to make sure the preschool meets the highest standards for Early Learning. She holds an Associate’s degree in Applied Science, and is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s in Social Work. Mari is responsible for implementing the curriculum for all classrooms from Infants to Pre-K. This includes setting up daily, weekly, and monthly activities and learning goals that keep all the children engaged, learning, and having fun. Parents describe her as bright and energetic.
Assistant Director and Parent Coordinator Zelda Brown has been assisting parents new to the preschool since 2000. She is extremely helpful to parents when completing all the necessary forms for enrollment plus answering any questions. Parents meet with her before and on their child’s first day to make sure it is a smooth and easy transition. Her door is always open, and she welcomes the chance to discuss any thoughts or concerns parents might have during the year. Parents describe her as easy to talk to and helpful.
Manager Carrie Halcomb started out with the preschool back in 2000 as a pre-K teacher. As time went on, her adaptability and willingness to help allowed her to grow into additional roles and responsibilities. Now a purchasing and preschool accounting expert, Carrie keeps very busy keeping the Accounting Department running smoothly. Parents describe her as personable and positive.
Manager Kristen Smith has been with the preschool since 2011, starting as a teacher in the Infant classroom. Her excellent communication skills and customer service quickly moved her up to the reception desk as the top customer service coordinator and accounts manager. Her in-depth knowledge of the preschool’s processes and procedures make her a great choice to provide tours of the facility to new and visiting parents. Parents describe her as welcoming and kind.

After passing an extensive interview and background check process, they constantly attend additional training and development sessions to learn the most up to date methods and techniques to help your child grow and learn. Most of our teachers have been with us for anywhere from 5 to 20 years.
