As owners of the Kids ‘R’ Kids Las Colinas franchise built in 1998, Seth and Teresa Van Eyk strive to make sure that the quality of care and learning is the best.  Their hands-on approach is demonstrated daily by their on-site presence and involvement. With degrees from Oregon State University (Seth), and the University of Oklahoma (Teresa), they chose to follow successful careers in the corporate world with the rewarding field of childcare.  After careful research and consideration, they selected Kids ‘R’ Kids due to the nurturing style and effective teaching techniques.

Director Alexa Henson holds a Bachelor’s degree and has extensive experience as a Director with other preschools such as Children’s Learning Adventure, Castle Montessori, and Primrose.  With her prior experience in the childcare industry and attention to detail, she keeps the preschool running smoothly.  She is the primary supervisor of all the classroom teachers and front office staff.  Her door is always open, and she welcomes the chance to discuss any thoughts or concerns parents might have during the year.  Parents describe her as knowledgeable and efficient.

Assistant Director Kaitlyn Walker has a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development and brings with her a wealth of knowledge related to hands-on teaching methods.  Kaitlyn spends her workday implementing the curriculum for all classrooms from Infants to Pre-K.  This includes setting up daily, weekly, and monthly activities plus learning goals that keep all the children engaged, learning, and having fun.  She also works closely with the corporate office to maintain the high standards set up for Early Learning programs.  Parents describe her as positive and proactive.

Assistant Director Shaquita Thomas started in the toddler classroom back in 2012.  Since that time, she completed her Bachelor’s Degree, and then went on to get her Master’s Degree in Education.  Always bright and cheerful, she is our top tour guide to show parents around the preschool.  She also meets with parents before and on their child’s first day to assist with any paperwork, and make sure it is a smooth and easy transition. Parents describe her as warm and friendly.

Office Manager Claudia Luna keeps the front office organized and under control.  She keeps the computer system updated and assists with answering phone calls and greeting parents.   Her friendliness and knowledge have made her a great choice to assist with tours and answering parent’s questions about the preschool.  Parents describe her as helpful and bright.

Receptionist Yoana Jaimez has previous experience in the Toddler classroom as a Teacher.  Her in-depth knowledge of the preschool’s processes and procedures make her a great choice to answer all the many phone calls, plus greet new and visiting parents.  Her positive attitude has also made her the perfect one to help teachers when it’s time for their break, or assist in a classroom when a substitute teacher is needed during a vacation. Parents describe her as calm and welcoming.


Our teachers are chosen for their experience and nurturing style, and meet the high standards you desire for your child.  After passing an extensive interview and background check process, they constantly attend additional training and development sessions to learn the most up to date methods and techniques to help your child grow and learn.
