Easy Cookies to Bake with Your Preschoolers

Easy Cookies to Bake with Your Preschoolers at Kids 'R' Kids Landstar, preschool, daycare, childcare

Get in the holiday spirit with your preschool-sized baker! Try these simple recipes that only have a few steps and a small ingredient list. They are easy enough for a preschooler to make!

Cake Mix Cookies

Ingredients: 1 box of cake mix, 2 eggs, 1/3 cup of vegetable oil

Optional: 1 ½ cups of mix-ins (chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, mini M&M’s, etc.)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix all the ingredients until combined. (An adult may need to help get it mixed well.)
  3. Scoop 2 tablespoons worth of dough on a parchment lined baking sheet, 2 inches apart.
  4. Bake for 11-13 minutes.

What makes these cookies great is that you can change up the cake flavor and the mix-ins. Use a red velvet or lemon cake mix with white chocolate chips, a chocolate cake mix with peanut butter chips or Andes baking bits, or use a yellow cake mix with chocolate chips or M&M’s.

Peanut Butter Drop Cookies

Ingredients: 1 cup of peanut butter, 1 cup of sugar, 1 egg, Hershey’s Kisses (or other miniature candy)

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix all the ingredients until combined.
  3. Scoop 1 tablespoon worth of dough, roll into a ball, and then place on a parchment lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes.
  5. While the cookies are baking, remove any wrapping from candy.
  6. Once cookies are removed from the oven, immediately press candy into the center of the cookie.

No Bake Graham Cookies

Ingredients: 2 cups of graham cracker crumbs (the cinnamon ones are good!), 1 mashed banana, 1/3 cup of peanut butter (or nut butter of choice)

Directions:

  1. Mix all the ingredients with a spoon until combined.
  2. You could choose to add some mini-chocolate chips, sprinkles, or raisins if you like.
  3. Use a melon-baller or tablespoon to scoop out dough and place on a parchment lined baking sheet.
  4. Place in the freezer for at least 20 min.
  5. Transfer to an airtight container. Cookies need to be stored in the refrigerator or freezer.
