Here are some examples of fun foods for preschoolers that keep things healthy:<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><b>Fresh Fruit<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This first one is a given, but simple fruit always makes a great snack for the growing child. When picky eaters avoid their vegetables, turn to the sweeter fruits to help expand their options. Be sure to slice or dice fruits for more manageable portions that also make the food seem less exotic and intimidating.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><b>Fruit and Yogurt Parfait<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Plain yogurt\u2019s more outrageous and funky cousin is the parfait. Layer a small bowl with vanilla yogurt, chopped fruit or banana slices, a few berries and a sprinkling of granola on top. It\u2019s adventurous, but also deceptively nutritious!<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Mini Pizza<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Toast a piece of bread or half of an English muffin or bagel then spread a tablespoon of marinara sauce on top. Make a fun activity out of selecting nutritious toppings and shredded cheese with your preschooler, then broil in the oven for a few minutes until the cheese melts and the crust goldens.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><b>Frozen Fruit Bars<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Any local kitchenware store stocks ice pop molds that are easy to craft with your preschoolers. Teach them the importance of healthy sweets by using 100% fruit juice (such as orange, pineapple, or berry) and chopped fruit or by freezing a smoothie.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Additional Tips<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Don\u2019t forget that whole grain foods are much healthier than other bread alternatives, so stick to smart cereals, granola and whole grain crackers. Avocado cubes can sometimes be too much for picky eaters\u2014try sneaking it in as a spread on bread or in a sandwich. You\u2019d be surprised how adventurous some preschoolers can be; experiment with dips like apples or pita with hummus or spinach dips.
