{"id":151000000292,"date":"2021-04-28T18:35:08","date_gmt":"2021-04-28T18:35:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kidsrkids.com\/keller\/?p=151000000292"},"modified":"2021-04-28T18:35:08","modified_gmt":"2021-04-28T18:35:08","slug":"homemade-instruments-for-preschoolers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kidsrkids.com\/keller\/2021\/04\/28\/homemade-instruments-for-preschoolers\/","title":{"rendered":"Homemade Instruments for Preschoolers"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure class=\"wp-image wp-image--no-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-151000000293 \" src=\"https:\/\/kidsrkids.com\/keller\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/151\/2021\/04\/shutterstock_407170810.jpg\" alt=\"Homemade Instruments for Preschoolers at Kids 'R' Kids Keller, preschool, daycare, childcare\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1804\" \/><\/figure><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">One of the most fun and stimulating ways to entertain your preschooler is through music, but we cannot always afford to spend money on things like new instruments.\u00a0 Fortunately, with a little creativity, we can make our own instruments that are just as fun and way more meaningful!<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Drums<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Gather an empty can, a piece of cloth big enough to cover the opening of the can, a hot glue gun, two sticks, and decorating supplies.\u00a0 Remove labels, clean, and dry the can.\u00a0 Use the hot glue gun to attach the cloth over the opening.\u00a0 Make sure the opening is completely covered.\u00a0 After the glue cools, decorate the outside of the can.\u00a0 Use the sticks to pat your own rhythm on your new drum!<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Maracas<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You will need two empty Easter eggs, tape, two popsicle sticks, and some beads or dry beans.\u00a0 Put the beans\/beads inside the eggs and close completely.\u00a0 Tape the eggs closed and attach the popsicle sticks with tape. Voila! You have your own maracas!\u00a0 If you want to make them more attractive, try wrapping washi tape around the outside.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Flute<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To make your flute, you will need scissors or a razor blade, a paper towel tube, and a small round piece of cardboard and tape.\u00a0 Take the small round piece of cardboard and tape it over or inside the top of the tube.\u00a0 Carefully, using scissors or razor blade, make a mouthpiece towards the top of the tube and a line of holes further down the tube.\u00a0 Decorate it if you would like, and start making music!<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Guitar<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You can create a guitar with a cereal box, cardboard tube, duct tape, and some rubber bands.\u00a0 First, cut a tube sized hole on the top of the box and another larger hole in the front of the cereal box.\u00a0 Next, put the tube into the top hole and tape in place.\u00a0 Cut slits in the top of the tube for the rubber bands to fit into.\u00a0 Then, wrap the rubber bands around the box and into the slits at the top of the tube.\u00a0 Finally, tape them in place at the bottom of the box and at the top of the tube.\u00a0 Enjoy!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you enjoyed this blog, please take a look at our school\u2019s<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/kidsrkids.com\/keller\/blog\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">blog page<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.
