With all this free time on your hands with your preschooler out of school for the summer, you may be at a loss for how to spend your time. <\/span>Arts and crafts<\/span><\/a> are a great, affordable way to both have fun and spark the artistic, creative side of your child.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tie Dye Shirts<\/b><\/h4>\n

An oldie, but a goodie: making tie dye shirts is a unique craft because it creates something you can use over and over again. How often can your child say that they can wear their art?<\/span><\/p>\n

Make a family tree<\/b><\/h4>\n

This project is a fun way to acquaint your child with your family history, and there\u2019s so many ways to do so! Draw a tree and make leaves for each family member, or make it a finger painting project where thumb prints of different colors represent the leaves.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sock puppets<\/b><\/h4>\n

Never underestimate the power of a little imagination and some googly eyes. Have your child decorate their own sock puppet with yarn, eyes, or anything else they want, and then put on a puppet show.<\/span><\/p>\n

Colorful sand necklaces<\/b><\/h4>\n

You can get plastic bottle necklaces that come in different shapes along with various colors of sand at the dollar or craft store. Put down some newspaper first or go outside and fill the necklaces with as many colors as your little ones can fit\u2014along with their tie-dye shirts, your kids will be the craftiest and most colorful kids on the block!<\/span><\/p>\n
