Preschoolers can be messy\u2014it\u2019s a known fact. You may be struggling with keeping your home tidy on a day-to-day basis, or maybe you\u2019re looking for a way to keep your little one busy on those long summer days. Chores are a fantastic solution for both scenarios, and we\u2019ve compiled several age-appropriate chores for preschoolers below!<\/span><\/p>\n

Create categories.<\/b><\/h2>\n

Consider separating chores into different categories, such as personal chores and home chores. Personal chores could include brushing their teeth every morning and night or making sure to drink enough water each day. Home chores could include tasks like making their bed, feeding the pets, or putting toys away.<\/span><\/p>\n

Take your preschooler grocery shopping.<\/b><\/h2>\n

Take your tot grocery shopping with you and allow them to help out throughout the entire process. You can even start by making a list of what you need together. Let your youngster explore different items in the store and place them in the cart. If they\u2019re feeling super independent that day they may even want to hand the money to the cashier.<\/span><\/p>\n

Make a chore chart!<\/b><\/h2>\n

Create a <\/span>chore chart<\/span><\/a> where your little one can earn stickers or gold stars for simple tasks like making their bed, putting their toys away, or helping you carry in lightweight groceries. Once they earn a certain amount of stars or stickers, you can have a family pizza party or movie marathon! Using rewards as incentive will motivate your little one to complete their chores and do their very best.<\/span><\/p>\n

Work as a family.<\/b><\/h2>\n

Complete different tasks around the house as a family. By working together and showing your children that you\u2019re putting in the effort, your child will be eager to follow in your footsteps and work just as hard.<\/span><\/p>\n

Remember to be consistent with whatever you enforce. Most children do well once they\u2019re settled into a routine, so remind them to complete their chores on a daily basis and be encouraging!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
