These small choices show your child that they are important, valuable, and worthy of your full attention. A few ways to do this are making eye contact, stopping what you are doing to listen to them, and receiving their thoughts and feelings without judging them.

Make Time to Play

Playtime is the way that children learn about themselves, others, and their surroundings. Spending time creating made up scenarios also helps them solve problems, work through their feelings, and develop confidence. Take some time every day to engage in playtime with your child. They will feel like they are worthy of your time and you will begin creating a special bond with them as you learn more about their interests and feelings.

Task Them with Jobs

In addition to helping you keep the house clean, small jobs and chores for preschoolers can give them a sense of contribution and accomplishment. Asking your child to set the table, make their bed, or clean up their toys begins to give them a sense of responsibility and helps them learn that them and their contributions matter.

Encourage Them

One of the best ways to teach your child that they are smart, capable, and worthy is by telling them! When your child does a great job or tries really hard at something, build them up by letting them know what you think. Take caution to ensure you are always praising the effort and not simply their performance, as they are still gifted even if their what they are working on doesn’t turn out like they’d hope.

For your child to confidently enter new situations, they need to have an assuredness and confidence inside of them. Using these ideas above, help foster confidence in your home, which will set them up for future success.

How to Improve Your Preschooler’s Attention Span

Want to learn more about Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Keller located in Keller, Texas?
