Chores teach children responsibility and give them an important role in your busy household (not to mention, it helps you keep things spick and span!) You may find yourself at a loss deciding which chores you can trust your eager, but sometimes clumsy, preschooler—here are some chores that are 100% preschooler friendly!
Pick Up Duty
Is your floor under a constant layer of toys, books, clothes, and who knows what else? Let your preschooler pick it all up and put it where it belongs—especially if they were the ones to make the mess in the first place. Don’t let them just dump things in a closet or in another room—show them where everything belongs and require them to utilize this system every time.
Make the Beds
Something that gets left behind in many busy households, making the bed is an easy yet responsibility-instilling task for a preschooler. This is something your little one can get in the habit of doing every day before leaving the house.
Dirty Clothes
Does your kiddo leave their clothes everywhere? Create an organization system for them to regularly follow. Baskets for colors, whites, and anything else that needs categorizing with labels are a great way to teach them organization and accountability.
Set the Table
How often do you set the table? If you’re a busy bee, it may not be a top priority. However, it’s a fun chore for kiddos to help with dinner while staying away from hot ovens and boiling liquids. Just make sure not to give them any sharp knives!
Whatever you end up assigning your preschooler to do around the house, it’ll end up not only teaching them new skills but also making them feel a part of the family where their work is important and appreciated.
