Everyone loves Labor Day for the long weekend and the opportunity to celebrate the hard work of those who love this country. Your preschooler doesn’t have to miss out on this fun. Here are some celebratory activities for you and your preschooler to enjoy together, making for a day they’ll never forget.
Picnic or cookout
With the last weekend before many children start school, everyone wants to kick back and enjoy delicious food and snacks. Cook out or make a fancy picnic for your immediate family. Use this celebratory weekend to make delicious mini snacks like mini hot dogs, fun cookies, and tasty fruit treats.
Fly a kite
If your child has never seen or flown a kite before, Labor Day is a great opportunity to head to the backyard to try it out. Add in some water sprinklers and a frisbee and make it a day of outdoor fun! Finish the day off with a movie together inside.
Arts and crafts
Themed arts and crafts are a holiday staple for many families, and with some confetti and paint, who could resist? Let your kids make their own decorations that you can hang on the refrigerator for all to see. Are you ready to say goodbye to summer? Let your kids help take down summer decorations and put up some festive fall ones in their place. No matter what you do, your little one will have the best time if you do it as a family. Enjoy the long weekend and take pictures so you can look back at the memories for years to come.
