Have you ever asked yourself how to make the perfect grilled cheese sandwich?
It’s easier than what you think. You want your bread to be light, crispy, and toasty outside with a moist and tender inside while holding all of the melted cheese.
According to our Chef Rob the secret is to use pan spray instead of butter because it’s healthier for you and your children. It also makes an even perfect toast on the bread as you toast both sides. Make as many grilled cheese sandwiches as you want and put them in the refrigerator. When you want to eat them, just warm them up in the oven until they are all hot. They will taste like you just made them!
Here are 4 simple steps to prepare the perfect grilled cheese sandwich:
- Spray both sides of the slice of bread.
- Place the slices into a heated pan.
- Add cheese once both bread slices are toasted.
- Top with the other slice of bread and cook at medium heat until golden brown making sure the cheese has fully melted.
Heat is the key to getting that golden brown bread and melted cheese. The higher the heat, the quicker your bread is going to brown. The lower the heat, the longer it will take. This means that cooking at a lower temperature will allow you to cook for longer and thus give the heat time to penetrate into the sandwich and melt the cheese.
You and your children can now enjoy that perfect grilled cheese sandwich!
