Certified Dietitian

  • Plans meals far enough ahead to minimize the need for food substitutions; when substitutions are necessary, with prior approval, purchases and serves food of equivalent nutritional value. With guidance from the owner or director, modifies menus for children with allergies. Documents all modifications and substitutes on posted menu.
  • Prepares meals and snacks in such a way that a minimum of nutrients are lost from foods, that ensure foods taste good and look appealing, and that there are ample amounts of foods for children to have additional servings.
  • Purchases food and supplies necessary to prepare the planned menus for the number of enrolled children.
  • Maintains established standards of sanitation, safety and food preparation and storage as set by Kids R Kids International, local and state health departments
  • Assures the proper care and maintenance of all food service equipment, identifies equipment needs for food preparation and service.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of safety practices as they relate to pre-school children
  • Good written and oral communications skills and basic math skills
  • Background in food service
  • Knowledge of preparing meals and snacks for large preschool
  • Current certificate in nutrition
  • Current certificate in health and safety
  • Current certificate in OSHA training
  • Current certificate in food preparation and sanitation
  • Infant, Child and Adult CPR/First Aid certified at time of hire or achieve certification within 30 days from date of hire
  • Current certificate in fire safety
  • Employment conditional upon results of the following:
    • Satisfactory criminal background-check for child care centers
    • Satisfactory Drug Screen
