The holidays can be a joyous and merry time for preschoolers, but a stressful time for their parents. It’s always important to find ways to keep yourself and your child happy during breaks from preschool. As a parent, you can tune down a lot of unneeded stress by planning ahead and following just a few quick steps.
Start Shopping Early
Sure, it seems like a given, but don’t shirk the conversation with your child about what they want for holiday gifts and be sure to start looking early. Great sales happen early in the holiday season, and the latest fad child’s toy may go out of stock quickly, especially as we get down to the wire. No one wants to be the parent making compromises on their child’s gifts, so take a moment to approach the shopping with as little stress as possible.
Find a New Holiday Tradition
When a preschooler is home for the holidays, they can quickly get cabin fever…which causes a lot of undue stress for parents. Avoid this by looking for ways to get the family out of the house and exploring new family traditions.
