Your preschooler has guaranteed opportunities for music in the childcare setting. However, <\/span>studies have shown<\/span><\/a> some positive effects of parents and their child participating in something musical <\/span>together.<\/b> \u00a0Music can create a bonding experience with you and your preschooler!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Plus, the encouraging part is that you do not even have to be musically talented to pull off some musically-planned fun times with your child! There are fun (and simple) DIY project ideas that you can do with your preschooler at home.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Super Simple<\/span><\/h4>\n

You cannot go wrong with using what is already in your kitchen! If you are up for a bit of kitchen disorganization, you can have your preschooler go through some cabinets and drawers to find something to turn into a drum and drumstick, for example. Have your child choose something for you, too! Then, either put on background music to drum with, or just make the music together with no background music.<\/span><\/p>\n

Inexpensive and Crafty<\/span><\/h4>\n

You can proactively save old toilet paper or paper towel rolls to use for this DIY music project with your preschooler. Have your preschooler decorate several of these rolls (at least one for you and your child). They can decorate them using stickers, markers, etc!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Next, wrap a rubber band around wax paper or aluminum foil on one end of a roll. This will enclose one of the sides. Have your child put in little fillers (dried rice or beans, paperclips, etc) into the roll. Tie up the other end with the rubber band. You and your preschooler can then play with these fun shakers!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You can really get creative using simple things around your house. These ideas are simple, yet the time spent with your preschooler will be priceless. It is memorable to incorporate DIY musical instruments at home.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
