It can be used to help relax our sweet little preschoolers, it can energize and entertain them, and it can be used for educational purposes.\u00a0You can use musical instruments to teach counting by leading your child in counting each time they beat the drum or shake the maracas! Are you ready to create some fun homemade instruments to play with your preschooler?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plastic Bottle Shaker<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Begin with an empty plastic bottle.\u00a0A water bottle or milk bottle from a fast food child\u2019s meal works well.\u00a0Add dried beans or rice to the bottle.\u00a0Let your preschooler test the sound and decide if more or less beans or rice are needed.\u00a0Secure the lid with super glue or hot glue and allow it to dry.\u00a0Your preschooler may enjoy decorating the outside of their shaker before making some music!<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tin Can Drum<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using a tin can with a pull tab, a balloon, rubber bands, and some sort of drum sticks, you and your preschooler can create a fun drum.\u00a0Please make sure to check the can for sharp edges prior to beginning.\u00a0Cut the end off the balloon and stretch it over the opening of the can, secure the balloon with a couple rubber bands.\u00a0Choose your drum sticks (i.e. small sticks from outside, chopsticks) and have fun making music with your preschooler!\u00a0Your preschooler may also enjoy decorating the can to make their drum extra festive.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Paper Plate Tambourines<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Give your preschooler two paper or styrofoam plates and allow them to decorate the bottoms of the plates.\u00a0Next, help your child with adding dry beans or pasta to the top side of one plate.\u00a0Place the other plate upside down on the first plate and staple around the edges to keep the contents inside.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We have used recycled or repurposed items to create fun instruments for your preschooler.\u00a0Please keep safety in mind and be mindful of choking hazards or sharp edges of items used.
