That means that science is everywhere! There are so many ways that you can learn science with your family, and here are just a few options to get you started.

Observe a sunset with your child.

Talk about where the sun sets and where it rises, and discuss the beautiful colors that are painted across the sky every night. What makes the sky appear pink or orange as the sun sets? Talk about your favorite colors to see across the sky each night.

Dissect a flower and recreate it with paper.

Talk about all the different parts such as the petals, leaves, anther, and stigma. Cut the different parts out of paper and glue them all together to make and learn about the makeup of a flower. Use any flower—let them pick their favorite!

Make a volcanic eruption.

Make a volcanic eruption with just three simple ingredients. Use equal parts of baking soda and vinegar with a little bit of food coloring for a fun factor. Put the baking soda in a glass and slowly add the colored vinegar to the baking soda for an epic overflowing eruption that will leave smiles on your preschooler’s face. Be prepared for the eruption and prep the area for minimal clean up. This is a favorite!

Try out these three experiments and you’re sure to whet an appetite for science in your little one. Remember that science is everywhere, and there are many other ways to learn about science that don’t take too much time. You can discuss things like the formation of clouds and why the sky is blue on long car rides to pass the time. Be creative and get the conversation flowing!

If you enjoyed this blog and want to read more, click below for our blog from last month!

Teaching Your Preschooler about Groundhog Day

Want to learn more about Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Duluth located in Duluth, Georgia?
