CLAYTON, NC (February 22, 2021):\u00a0 Kids \u2018R\u2019 Kids of Clayton (KRK of Clayton) rallied their community, employees, students and their parents to raise $700 on behalf of #All in Red, an eight-day, county-wide community engagement initiative aimed at increasing heart health awareness and raising dollars in support of the Johnston Health Foundation’s (JHF) Heart Fund. KRK student body President, Owen Plessinger, and Vice President, Gus Webster, proudly presented the proceeds to Executive Director, Sol Halliburton and Development and Events Coordinator, Jessica Medlin of Johnston Health Foundation.<\/p>\n

An annual sponsor of this very worthwhile and important fundraising event, KRK of Clayton eclipsed their 2021 commitment by 75%, selling paper hearts to parents during drop off and pick up of their children in the Kids \u2018R\u2019 Kids \u201cKiss N\u2019 Go\u201d carpool lane every morning and afternoon, as well as through the KRK of Clayton Facebook page.\u00a0The hearts were then personalized and displayed across the windows and walls of the school. There was even a very generous anonymous Facebook donor from out of state who said,\u00a0\u201cI want every student to have a heart, even if they can’t afford it\u201d.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Franchise Owner, Tara Abernathy, \u201cThis being a very challenging time for our community, we were very happy to give our support for JHF but also thrilled that our community showed up to support this great cause as well.\u201d\u00a0Despite the challenges from the pandemic, owners Greg and Tara Abernathy have been dedicated to keeping jobs for their employees, showing continued community support, and adapting education to new family lifestyles.<\/p>\n
