Rainbow Walking Water
Create a colorful experiment that introduces color blending and absorption.
What you need: Clear cups, water, food coloring, and paper towels.
How it works: Fill three cups with water—one red, one blue, and one yellow—leaving an empty cup between each. Roll paper towels into strips and place them between the cups, with one end in the colored water and the other in the empty cup. Watch as the colors “walk” along the paper towels and mix, teaching preschoolers about absorption and color blending in a fun and magical way!
Balloon-Powered Car
Introduce physics concepts with this exciting air-powered activity.
What you need: A balloon, plastic straw, tape, and a small toy car.
How it works: Tape the straw to the car, blow up the balloon (without tying it), and attach the balloon’s opening to the straw. Let go and watch the car zoom away! This fun experiment teaches children about air pressure, motion, and cause and effect.
Sorting and Counting with Nature
Turn a nature walk into a hands-on math and science lesson.
What you need: A small basket for collecting leaves, rocks, or flowers.
