Winter break is almost over, and school is about to start again! As we enter the second half of the school year, there are a few things that teachers might want you to know as a preschool parent.
Send your child in comfortable clothing.
Though it’s fun to dress them up in super cute clothing, comfort has to have at least equal priority with fashion. If little Johnny is going to have a nice, productive day, he needs to feel comfortable in his clothes. Children love comfort just as much if not more than we do!
Send a healthy, well-packed lunch.
It’s always better to send more, and you would rather take food back home with you than risk little Sally being hungry for half the day. Be sure to send healthy lunches. Though your child may want only candy, be sure to send protein and carbs too. A well-packed lunch makes sure that all tummies are full and everyone is happy.
Try to be attentive during pick-up.
If your child is really excited to tell you about his day, but you’re still finishing up a phone conversation, it is difficult for you to give him the attention he needs. Try to either finish everything up before you pick up your child, or put things on hold for a few minutes while you invest in pick-up time. Just try to take a few minutes to make your child feel special, and take interest in all that has gone on in their little day. A few intentional moments go a long way!
These are just a few simple ideas to help make sure your child has a great preschool experience. Comfortable clothing, a nice lunch, and a few special moments with a parent can go a long way to help them have a happy day.
