National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15th to October 15th every year! Did you know that one in four kids in the United States is of Hispanic origin? It\u2019s exciting to celebrate each other<\/a> so let\u2019s take this month to learn something new. This year, we\u2019re going to share five ways to learn more about our neighbors, friends, and classmates in the Hispanic and Latinx communities.<\/p>\n

\"\"Let\u2019s eat!<\/span><\/h2>\n

Who doesn\u2019t love to eat? This is a great opportunity to visit or order food from a local Hispanic or Latin American-owned restaurant. You may even find your new favorite restaurant to support. If you\u2019re more into hands-on experiences, take a <\/span>look at some recipes<\/span><\/a> to try out at home.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Watch a movie celebrating Latinx voices<\/span><\/h2>\n

Movie streaming platforms are great at compiling Latinx-inspired movies or movies featuring famous Latinx people. Right now, Disney+ has a \u201cHispanic and Latin American Leads\u201d and \u201cLeading Latinas\u201d categories which is a great place to start. Other streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu also have collections put together. It\u2019s important to note that not all films for entertainment will be 100% accurate on history or representation at times.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Take a trip to the library!<\/span><\/h2>\n

It\u2019s true that there are so many great resources available online, but sometimes it\u2019s nice to experience a physical book. At many libraries, there will be a section set up displaying and featuring Latinx voices along with activities or learning opportunities. There are usually two different features \u2014 in the kids and adults section. The kids section may even have additional materials you can bring home to enjoy!<\/span><\/p>\n
