Simple scientific experiments you can try at home with your preschooler!!!<\/b><\/p>\n

As technology continues to advance at such a rapid rate, more and more emphasis is being placed on science, at the elementary school level. \u00a0Did you know however, that there are a number of fantastic experiments that you can conduct at home with your preschool child? Below we take a look at a few of these experiments, which are all recommended by Kids \u2018R\u2019 Kids Learning Academy of Avalon Park<\/a>, and how you can conduct them at home with your child.<\/p>\n

Mixing oil and water<\/b><\/p>\n

This is a wonderfully simple experiment that requires a bottle, some water, some drops of food coloring and a bit of cooking oil. \u00a0Mix the water, food coloring and oil together in the bottle and shake it to mix it up. \u00a0At first, the liquids appear to be mixing; however, the oil will float back to the top of the water. \u00a0This is because water and oil molecules are more attracted to like molecules. \u00a0Oil is not soluble in water, and these two ingredients generally do not mix. \u00a0This experiment is visually appealing and fun for young children.<\/p>\n

Floating eggs<\/b><\/p>\n

Do eggs float? This fun experiment requires an egg, some water, some salt and a tall, clear drinking glass. \u00a0Add the water to fill the glass about half way and mix in about eight tablespoons of salt. \u00a0Now slowly pour over the top, some ordinary tap water. Do not fill it too much as you need room for the egg. \u00a0Carefully lower the egg into the solution until it reaches the salt water. The egg should be floating in the middle of the glass. The salt water is a lot more dense than ordinary tap water, allowing the egg to float in the middle of the glass.<\/p>\n
