Meet Our Staff

Ms. Debbie – Owner/Center Director

Ms. Debbie’s passion for teaching began at a young age – she started working in education when she was 16 years old. Her extensive experience includes serving as Assistant Principal for Pinecrest School in Chatsworth, California as well as working for a leading childcare corporation.

Ms. Debbie wanted to make a difference for students by opening a family-owned and operated school with a director on site. She founded Kids R Kids in 2005 and has been running it for 14 years and counting. She sees each of the children at the school as one of her own and takes pride in creating lasting and positive relationships with them.

Ms. Leigh – Assistant Director

Ms. Leigh has worked in childcare for over thirty years and is passionate about working with children and their families. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, she has lived in Alpharetta for 21 years. She finds fulfillment in her position as Assistant Director of Kids R Kids because she enjoys watching children develop and grow, and she loves the hugs and love that they give. In her free time, she enjoys walking, cross stitching, and reading.

Ms. Shelly– Assistant Toddler Teacher

Ms. Shelly worked for over thirty years in an accounting department before following her true passion of working with children. She has worked with the Kids R Kids toddlers program for two years. Ms. Shelly loves each of the children she works with and calls her career change the “best decision ever!”

Ms. Rebekah – Senior Aftercare Assistant Teacher

Ms. Becky finds satisfaction from working in a role that allows her to make a difference in children’s lives. She loves making children laugh and seeing the “spark” inside them when they realize they can do whatever they set their mind to. Ms. Becky has worked as an assistant after-school teacher as well as a lead teacher in both the school-age program and the Pre-K program. She loves working at Kids R Kids because children make her life a brighter place.

Ms. Gina – Administrative Assistant

Ms. Gina has worked in childcare throughout her career. She has worked with every age group and previously served as Director and Regional Manager for a corporate childcare program where she managed 14 schools at once. Ms. Gina has served as Administrative Assistant at Kids R Kids for almost ten years. She loves working with children, their parents, and the school staff.

Ms. Jyothi – Assistant GA Pre-K Teacher

Ms. Jyothi completed her master’s degree in sociology in India in 1995. She also holds a PGDCA in computers. In 1999, she moved to the United States, where she lived in both New Jersey and Texas before settling in Atlanta. Ms. Jyothi joined the Kids R Kids team in 2019 and works as an Assistant GA Pre-K Teacher. She enjoys working with children, specifically helping them with arts and crafts and reading.

Her favorite quote is, “You can teach a student a lesson for a day. But if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives.”

Ms. Rishika – Assistant Pre-School Teacher

Ms. Rishika holds a master’s degree in electronics and communication engineering and began her teaching career as an Assistant Professor of Engineering. When she migrated to the United States from India in 2015, she settled in Alpharetta and transitioned to teaching younger students.

Ms. Rishika enjoys working at Kids R Kids because of the emphasis placed on values, a feeling of “home,” and the qualified and dedicated staff. She believes that children should be “hugged first, then taught,” and she enjoys teaching art, reading, and more. When she is not at Kids R Kids, Ms. Rishika enjoys dancing and spending time with her husband and daughter.

Ms. Debra – Lead GA Pre-K Teacher

Ms. Debra holds bachelor’s degrees in early childhood education and accounting and a master’s degree in library media. Ms. Debra’s experience in teaching is expansive – she has served as a Third Grade Teacher, Media Specialist, Head Start Teacher, and a Lead Pre-K Teacher. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, reading, and spending time with friends.

Ms. Debra thinks that a solid education is one of the most important things to instill in a child. She believes that “The most valuable thing in the world is knowledge. Everything else in our lives – money, health, things, love – they can all come and go. They can all be taken away from us. The one thing that no one can ever take from you once you have acquired it is knowledge.”

Ms. Maggie – Lead GA Pre-K Teacher

Ms. Maggie has been working with children for over 23 years. She has a master’s degree in teaching, specializing in early education as well as a reading endorsement. She joined Kids R Kids in July 2014 and works as a Lead Pre-K Teacher. She loves working with children because of the joy she sees on their faces when they accomplish a goal. She finds intrinsic value in watching them learn and grow. She believes that when learning is fun and engaging, students will learn to enjoy the process.

Ms. Maggie enjoys spending time with her family, taking day trips, listening to music, and swimming.

Ms. Aaarathy – Assistant GA Pre-K Teacher

Ms. Aaarathy holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics and communication engineering and a master’s degree in telecommunications engineering. Her previous work experience includes a Professorship at SRM University in India, a position as Project Guide for university students, and working in curriculum development for children from three to five years of age.

She believes that teaching should create a positive experience for all students and help them to learn the basic developmental skills that will support their future endeavors. When not working, Ms. Aaarathy enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, practicing yoga, and traveling.

Ms. Margaret – Assistant GA Pre-K Teacher

Ms. Margaret graduated with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood development from the University of Tennessee. After working in sales for a few years, she transitioned to working with children and has been a teacher ever since. She currently serves as an Assistant Pre-K Teacher, and she has a passion for helping children learn and develop socially. When not teaching, Ms. Margaret enjoys running, hiking, and traveling.

Her favorite quote is, “Children are like wet cement. Whatever falls on them makes an impression.” – Dr. Hiam Ginnot

Ms. Kalpana – Lead GA Pre-K Teacher

Ms. Kalpana has been with Kids R Kids since 2011. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in physical education. She has experience working as a substitute teacher in Forsyth County Public Schools and as an Assistant Teacher at Crabapple Academy. She loves teaching children because of their inquisitive and energetic natures. Ms. Kalpana enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.

She believes that childhood learning is the foundation for a lifetime of success that “every child is gifted, they just unwrap their packages at different times.”

Ms. Soma – Toddler Teacher

Ms. Soma has worked in early childhood education since 1998. She joined the Kids R Kids team in 2018. Ms. Soma loves to be around children. She enjoys helping them develop skills that will support them throughout their lives.

When not working, Ms. Soma can be found traveling, cooking, and reading.

Ms. Asma – Lead Infant Room Teacher

Ms. Asma has a degree in economics and has previously served as a substitute teacher and school volunteer. She began working at Kids R Kids in 2008, where she serves as Lead Infant Room Teacher. Ms. Asma loves working with infants. Her goal is to provide a safe and loving environment for each child in her care.

Ms. Reema – Assistant GA Pre-K Teacher

Ms. Reema holds a master’s degree in science as well as a CDA certification. After working in early childhood education for five years, Ms. Reema came to Kids R Kids in 2015. She enjoys working with children because she finds it rewarding to help educate and foster their growth. Outside of work, Ms. Reema enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and trying new restaurants.

She believes that “Childhood is a journey, not a race.”

Ms. Melissa – Lead Pre-School Teacher

A graduate of North Georgia Nursing School specializing in phlebotomy, Ms. Melissa worked in the medical field for two years before transitioning to follow her passion of working with children. She began her career at Kids R Kids in 2019 where she works as a Lead Pre-School Teacher. She values working with children because she learns something new each day with them. She also enjoys the interactions she has with parents and work partners that help the students grow and learn.

Her favorite educational quote is “You’re off to great places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, so go on your way!” – Dr. Seuss

Ms. Madhuri- Lead Pre-School Teacher

Ms. Madhuri earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and psychology and has extensive experience in working with children of all ages. Her previous work experience includes running a family day care practice as well as many years as a Lead Teacher. Ms. Madhuri is passionate about her work and engages her students through various activities like arts and crafts, reading, sharing, self-expression, science, and more. She works to strike a chord with both children and their parents so that everyone plays an active role in their overall early childhood development. Ms. Madhuri enjoys watching movies, exercising, cooking, and visiting the beach.

Ms. Jessica – Lead Private Pre-K Teacher

Ms. Jessica’s degree is in early childhood education, and she has been teaching for twenty years. Her previous positions include Curriculum Coordinator, GA Pre-K Project Director, Events Coordinator, and Junior/Senior Camp Teacher. Ms. Jessica has worked at Kids R Kids since 2009, where she enjoys working as a Lead Pre-K Teacher. Ms. Jessica believes that students benefit from a balanced routine of fun and learning and that Kids R Kids works hard to ensure that each student is supported. When not teaching, Ms. Jessica enjoys reading and playing video games.

Ms. Michelle – Lead GA Pre-K Teacher

Ms. Michelle earned a master’s degree in teaching as well as elementary and special education certifications from Montclair State University. She has been working in child care for over twenty years. Ms. Michelle has been a part of the Kids R Kids family since 2014. Her favorite thing about working with children is watching her students grow and gain a joy for learning. Ms. Michelle’s favorite thing to do is spend time with her husband, children, and their dogs.

Ms. Michelle hopes to help her students realize their potential. One of her favorite quotes is by Ivan Welton Fitzwater and reads, “The future of the world is in my classroom today.”

Ms. Manisha – On-Site Chef

Ms. Manisha was born and raised in Malawi before migrating to Canada where she earned her degree in business management from Durham College in Ontario. She previously worked as an Assistant Teacher for special needs students in reading. She joined Kids R Kids in 2018, and she has worked as a Floater Teacher and currently serves as On-Site Chef.

She loves working with children and finds joy in their innocence and the happiness they receive from simple things. She believes that knowledge is power.

Ms. Veronica

Ms. Veronica grew up in China and attended college at National University of China. She came to Kids R Kids of Cumming in 2019 after living in New York for 8 years and working at a daycare for two years. Ms. Veronica has two children and they both attend Kids R Kids. She loves working with her amazing team of teachers and the children bring her great joy. She values her role in supporting moms and dads in their parenting journey.
